Environmental Specialist

Atlas Environmental is seeking environmental specialists to join our team on a part time or full time basis. This is an excellent career opportunity for a recent graduate who wants to develop professional experience with a wide variety of environmental projects. Atlas currently has openings for consultants who have an interest in regulatory compliance, stormwater management, environmental assessment, and geology. The job responsibilities will be based upon your abilities and interest.

Ideally, you would have a bachelor’s degree in geology, environmental science, engineering, or a related discipline, but your ability and ambition are more important.

General requirements include:

• Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Driver’s license and dependable vehicle.
• Ability to multi-task, maintain flexibility, travel, and work independently with minimal supervision.

You will be working primarily remotely at client sites and occassionally in our office in Groton. We are open to part time, full time, or on a contract basis. Great opportunity of those that are semi-retired.   

You choose how much you want to work and how much you want to get paid. 

Although these are not strict requirements, it is an advantage to have experience or an interest to learn:

• Technical writing.
• Environmental due diligence and a knowledge of E1527.
• Phase II assessment including drilling, soil sampling, boreholes logging, and well construction.
• General knowledge of the Connecticut Remediation Standard Regulations and the Site Characterization Guidance Document.
• 40-hour Hazwoper initial training.
