Senior Environmental Scientist

Big East Environmental is seeking a Senior Environmental Scientist to join our team on full time basis. This is an opportunity for a mid- to senior level individual who is looking to lead and grow our Environmental Site Assessment and Soil and Groundwater division. We are seeking someone with experience in regulatory compliance, phase I & II environmental assessments, soil and groundwater sampling, and excellent report writing skills.

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in geology, environmental science, engineering, or a related discipline, and is or on track for a CT LEP license.

General requirements include:

• Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Driver’s license and dependable vehicle (company vehicles are available for site related work).
• Ability to lead, supervise, and develop junior staff.
• Have a strong working knowledge of current CT DEEP regulations.
• Technical writing and report editing.
• Environmental due diligence.
• Scope of work development.
• On-site experience in drilling, soil sampling, boreholes logging, and monitoring well construction and development.
• General knowledge of the Connecticut Remediation Standard Regulations and the Site Characterization Guidance Document.

We are open to a flexible schedule however, your presence in our Norwalk, CT office will be required.

Although not a requirement to have a current LEP license, it is advantageous to have experience with LEP services, the property transfer act, and the new release based regulations.
